Highwall Technologies Releases Next Generation Enterprise Network Rogue Detection System

First Extended Range Solution for Wireless Intrusion Protection and Location of the Position of Wireless Devices in Large Buildings

SARASOTA, FL (PRWEB) June 8, 2004 -- Highwall Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise wireless products that detect and locate rogue wireless devices, today announced the release and general availability of the Highwall Rogue Detection System (RDS) 2.0.

The Highwall RDS greatly simplifies the task of detecting and locating the presence of rogue wireless threats. A single system is enough for a network administrator or CIO to monitor a five-story building due to its extended range and coverage provided through amplification and specialized antennas.

"Every corner of a building is at risk for hosting a rogue wireless access point," said Rich Swier, CEO of Highwall Technologies. "This makes protecting a wired network from the threat of rogue wireless access an all or nothing endeavor. Without 100% coverage of every building, there is a clear risk of wireless intrusion into the wired network. The Highwall Rogue Detection System is the first solution that provides extended range for buildings and provides enterprises with the coverage, scalability and affordability they need to tackle the mounting issue of rogue wireless. With Highwall, enterprises can confidently take the stance of 'no wireless, but our authorized wireless.'"

Highwall recently deployed the Rogue Detection System at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Florida.

"The Highwall Rogue Detection System allowed us to protect our entire hospital without having to deploy hundreds of low range sensors," said Scott Stone, wireless manager for Sarasota Memorial Hospital. "It was important for us to find a point solution for the growing threat of rogue wireless that integrated into our existing network management software, and Highwall was the only company able to provide the solution."

The Highwall RDS includes the Highwall Sentinel, Highwall Scout, and Highwall RDS Management Console. The Highwall Sentinel continuously monitors the airwaves for all wireless devices operating in the 802.11 a, b, and g frequencies and will notify the user if there are intrusions or unauthorized wireless clients on the network, plus assist in shutting down access.

The Highwall Scout Antenna is a specialized antenna that provides enhanced coverage and location information related to wireless clients and networks. The Scout provides the information necessary to help locate a rogue device to shut it down physically.

The Highwall RDS Management Console includes a dashboard view and advanced, drill-down feature set to help network administrators monitor multiple buildings from a single viewpoint. The console assists network administrators with policy management and alert notification, and is configurable to any number of system responses for each alarm, including notification via e-mail, SNMP, sys log, or several other communications methods.

Pricing and Availability:
The Highwall Rogue Detection Systems starting price is $14,000, and includes a Highwall Sentinel, two Highwall Scouts and the RDS Management Console. The Highwall Rogue Detection System 2.0 is available now. Contact sales@highwalltech.com or call (941) 362-3502 for more information.
