Turtle Creek Chorale presents KTCC Radio Hour Sounds That Drew A Nation Together

Its 1940. The radio dial is set to station KTCC as the award-winning Turtle Creek Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Timothy G. Seelig, presents KTCC Radio Hour. The performances are scheduled for Sunday, June 20, and Friday, June 25, at 8 p.m. in the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. KTCC Radio Hour recreates moments from the 1940s. Sing, swing, salute! to big band music and the sounds that drew a nation together. You will step back in time for a night of nostalgia when every American family was glued to the radio. Hear favorites like Somewhere Over the Rainbow; Chattanooga Choo Choo; Choo Choo Ch Boogie and much, much more.

DALLAS, TX (PRWEB) June 12, 2004 -- Its 1940. The radio dial is set to station KTCC as the award-winning Turtle Creek Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Timothy G. Seelig, presents KTCC Radio Hour. The performances are scheduled for Sunday, June 20, and Friday, June 25, at 8 p.m. in the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. KTCC Radio Hour recreates moments from the 1940s. Sing, swing, salute! to big band music and the sounds that drew a nation together. You will step back in time for a night of nostalgia when every American family was glued to the radio. Hear favorites like Somewhere Over the Rainbow; Chattanooga Choo Choo; Choo Choo Ch Boogie and much, much more.

The first half of the concert starts with the Chorale bringing down the house accompanied by Jazzful Noise, a local Swing Jazz Band from the Cathedral of Hope. Some of the opening numbers will include Takin a Chance on Love; Lets Call the Whole Thing Off; The Man I love and many more. The second half is a salute to the WWII troops with the Chorale performing with Jazzful Noise such songs, as This is the Army, Mr. Jones; For All We Know and Ill Be Seeing You. The Gay Veterans of Dallas will be presenting the Colors before the Chorale finishes its tribute to the WWII Veterans by singing God Bless America.

Skie Ocasio, who will serve as both radio announcer and host, will join the Chorale to help reconstruct this wonderful evening. Skie will perform the smashing hit You Go to My Head. No stranger to the stage, Ocasio portrayed Valentin in the Uptown Players production of Kiss of the Spider Woman.

KTCC Radio Hour brings to life some of the most memorable music of the 1940s like only the TCC can," said Dr. Timothy G. Seelig, TCC artistic director. Your toes will be tapping, if you can stay in your seat at all."
