Brand new online community offers a ton of features, convenience and universal appeal!
Jefferson, MA (PRWEB) June 15, 2004 -- A new website has just come online and is already creating quite a buzz on the Internet. Galaxy-E.com is the latest entry into the hugely popular genre known as "online communities."
So, whats an online community?
An online community or "portal" as theyre sometimes called, is a system of integrated programs designed to make it easier for a user to find information. Typically these programs will include things like free e-mail, chat rooms, forums, classified ads and most importantly a search engine. The purpose of all these integrated programs is to provide convenience, and a sense of community to the user, and to help make the user feel more comfortable about using the portal for the purpose of beginning their journey from a familiar "home base" as opposed to scurrying all over the internet trying to find all the pieces of the puzzle for themselves. So in this sense the portal is offering a valuable time-saving service.
However, owner David Turner says his online community is a little different. "Usually, online communities try to attract or appeal to a specific age group or demographic—either all kids or all adults. Galaxy-E.com was designed to appeal to people of all ages. For example, we feature a "Friends Forum" where people from around the world can meet and talk about any subject they like, as long as they keep it clean of course.
We also have a daily horoscope, FREE e-mail, FREE e-cards and FREE classifieds. In addition, the website is extremely interactive. We feature a Quiz of the Day, Poll of the Day, suggestion box, the aforementioned Friends Forum, arcade games and more."
Turner says his goal is to make Galaxy-E.com the "shining star of online communities." You can see the website at:
