Burton "Bubba" Gilliam Joins Gold Buckle Media Key Industry Advisory Board

Veteran Character Actor and Commercial Spokesman Adds Decades of Film and TV Experience to Western Sports and Lifestyle Programmers Media Broadcasting Committee

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 21, 2004 -- Gold Buckle Media (GBM) (www.goldbucklemedia.com) announced today that veteran film and television actor Burton Bubba" Gilliam has joined the Western sports and lifestyle programmers Media Broadcasting Committee. Mr. Gilliam will advise the company on issues relating to the development and production of programming content as well as participate in GBM events and other promotional activities.

Burton Gilliam was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where he was a fireman for fourteen years prior to becoming an actor. Gilliam says his only claim to fame while living in Big D" was winning more Golden Gloves championships than anyone else in history. He was discovered by director Peter Bogdanovich while casting extras in Dallas for the 1973 film Paper Moon, and was cast in the part of Floyd the desk clerk. Gilliams role in Paper Moon caught the attention of legendary writer, comedian, and actor Mel Brooks, who cast him in the 1974 classic Blazing Saddles, transforming Gilliam in to a cult hero.

Gilliam has appeared in 42 films, including Gator, Hearts of the West, Fletch, Back to the Future III, Honeymoon in Vegas and The Getaway and remains a fan favorite from appearances in 190 television shows and over 200 commercials. Gilliams television credits include Alice, Flo, Dukes of Hazard, Mamas Family, Fall Guy, A-Team, Knight Rider, Love American Style, Best of the West, Hail to the Chief, Soap and The Jericho Mile. For three years he played the role of Virgil Mosely on the hit show Evening Shade.

He has filmed commercials and done voice work for major products and companies such as Ford Trucks, Coco-Cola, Quaker State Motor Oil, Taco Bell, and McDonalds and was the national spokesperson for Pace Picante Sauce (Hey, that stuffs made in New York City!") for twelve years. Currently, the 30-year film and television industry veteran is producing and starring in the new sit-com Out On Bail and has just completed a co-starring role in the film Drop Dead Sexy. He is also a spokesman for Ford Motor Company.

Gilliam is also a much sought-after motivational speaker, traveling the country relating his life experience as an example in setting goals. An avid golfer, he plays on the celebrity golf circuit, traveling the country and lending his name and efforts in support of many charitable causes. He hosted The Burton Gilliam Celebrity Golf Classic, played in Pismo Beach, California for thirteen years.
