Hair Fairies - The Head Lice Helpers offers head lice removal services in Orange County California starting June 21, 2004

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2004 -- It's a lousy job, but somebody's got to do it. Starting June 21, 2004, Hair Fairies - The Head Lice Helpers will begin offering head lice removal services in Orange County, CA. Hair Fairies currently has a head lice removal salon in Los Angeles and since 1999 has successfully rid over 2,000 families of these pesky parasites. They also sell their products via the internet for frantic parents who cannot make it to their salon. Due to overwhelming requests, Hair Fairies will offer the following services in Orange County:

1.   In home lice removal
2.   School screenings
3.   Information seminars

For $75.00 an hour, trained Hair Fairies (a cross between a teacher, counselor and nurse) will come to a family's home to remove head lice for all infested. Traditionally, if one child in the family has lice, 80% of the times siblings will contract them, 75% of the time Mom will contract lice and 20% of the time dad will contract lice. "It is important to treat the whole family, not just one family member," says Managing Partner Maria Botham. "We realize not everyone can make it to our salon so we wanted to bring our services to Orange County" continues Ms. Botham.

Head lice are a very common problem among school-aged children. Based on national statistics, over 100,000 people will contract these pesky parasites in Orange County this year. Though head lice are not dangerous, they are annoying, as most schools have a no nit policy, meaning children cannot come to school with "nits" or lice eggs.

"Thank goodness Hair Fairies will be in Orange County" says a client of Hair Fairies from Newport Beach "I drove all the way to Los Angeles to have my family treated". There are still stigmas associated with having head lice, which is why most parents don't want to give their names. Hair Fairies tries to help eliminate those stigmas through education, letting parents and children know that head lice are very common and that having head lice is not associated with lack of cleanliness - in fact it is the opposite. Head lice prefer clean hair.

Hair fairies has been a trusted name in the head lice removal business since 1999. They have been featured in national publications such as PEOPLE MAGAZINE. Physicians write prescriptions for services and many insurance carriers accept Hair Fairies services as a treatment method for head lice.
