Protector Mobility Suite is a set of software components that enable mobile professionals and multiple PC users to create a portable PC environment—one in which a USB flash drive loaded with the appropriate software can turn any PC into their own virtual system." With this method, a user can plug their flash drive into any Windows PC and operate the host PC as if it were their own, by accessing their entire personal computing environment—files, email, Internet, and other settings from the flash drive, with full security and protection of their personal information. All data throughout the entire session that would normally be stored on the hard drive—such as email messages, files, cookies, passwords, URLs, etc.—is redirected to the USB flash drive, which prevents any information from reaching the hard drive of the system being used. Additionally, file synchronization enables users to update files between the flash drive and their PC, and it does not require installation or additional set up on the host computer.
Availability, Pricing and Requirements
P.I. Protector Mobility Suite supports Windows XP/2000/ME/98SE. In order to run portable Outlook, Outlook 2000 (C/W), 2002, or 2003 must be installed on the host computer. P.I. Protector requires a USB flash drive or other USB-based portable storage device (purchased separately) with a minimum 16MB of available space. P.I. Protector Mobility Suite costs $30 dollars (U.S.) per device license (for software download) or $40 for the program on CD.
