Shaykh Muhammad Said al-Jamal ar-Rifa'i ash-Shadhuli, affectionately called "Sidi" by his seven million students world-wide, is in the US to deliver a message of peace, love, mercy, justice and freedom from the Muslim world. Recognized by world leaders as an international spiritual guide, Sidi was one of the primary speakers invited to the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit in August 2000. Now this extraordinary man and spiritual guide is touring the US to speak throughout the summer of 2004 and lead peace-loving Americans in prayers for world peace.

Syria (PRWEB) June 21, 2004 -- The head teacher at one of the three holiest mosques in Islam is in the US to deliver a message of peace, love, mercy, justice and freedom from the Muslim world. Shaykh Muhammad Said al-Jamal ar-Rifa'i ash-Shadhuli, affectionately called "Sidi" by his seven million students world-wide, is a prominent spiritual leader at the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. He is Head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Holy Land and a long-time advocate of world peace.

Sidi is a descendent of the Prophet Muhammad through his ancestor, Shaykh Ahmad ar-Rifa'i. He was born in Tulkum in the Holy Land in 1935. He is the spiritual inheritor through the Shadhili line from his Guide and Master, Shaykh Abdu-r-Rahman Abu-r-Risah of Halab in the land of Syria, and is one who has kept Sufism alive and at work as an institution, and a school of thought and spiritual knowledge. In 1997 Sidi restored the 1000-year-old Sufi Council that served in the Holy Land. He has been a teacher and central figure at the Masjid al-Aqsa or the Dome of the Rock for many years.

A retired judge, Sidi made his first visit to America in 1994 and has continued to be invited here each year to give seminars and teach at schools and centers across the United States. Recognized by world leaders as an international spiritual guide, Sidi was one of the primary speakers invited to the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit in August 2000.

This extraordinary man and spiritual guide is scheduled to speak throughout the summer of 2004 and lead peace-loving Americans in prayers for world peace. Sidi brings a clear message of hope to the many Americans who also long for peace.

Sidi says no to war and killing, destroying homes, preventing aid from reaching the needy, destruction of natural resources, and imprisoning innocent people. He says yes to peace; yes for love, yes for mercy; yes to the justice and freedom for all people everywhere.

He quotes the Holy Scriptures: "God says, O people, I created your tribe and nations to know each other. Those who are the most beloved of God are those that have reverence for God and who follow my word through the message of unity, to carry the flag of peace, mercy, love, justice, and freedom for all the people."

Sidi urges people of all nations to heed his call for world peace and unity by saying, "This message is for all the people of America, Europe, Africa, everywhere."
