The saga of Googles apparent censorship continues.
Shinnston, WV & Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) June 24, 2004 -- Kush and Associates, LLC, a political consulting firm with offices in West Virginia and New Jersey, wants to know if their advertisement was dropped from the worlds premiere search engine because Googles CEO has contributed over $245,000 to Democrat candidates and causes since 1998.
At issue is Googles decision to drop an advertisement placed by Kush and Associates because the firms website contains a Kerry Bashing" page.
Kush and Associates Founding Partner, Steve Kush explained, Google chose to drop our advertisement because of the negative John Kerry page on our website. We feel they should apply the same rules to all advertisers. There are several advertisements that appear on the Google search engine advocating against President Bush."
Last night I received an email from the Google AdWords Team." Kush continued, They attempted to appease us by writing, ‘You may be aware that a different set of laws and regulations apply to commercial speech (advertising) than to the search results we show when you do a Google search. As a business, Google must make decisions about where we draw the line in regard to the advertising we accept, both from a legal and company values perspective. I wonder if they chose to draw this line because Google‘s CEO, according to Federal Election Commission records, has contributed $245,216 to Democrat candidates and causes since 1998? That sure is an interesting perspective!"
Kush added, Considering Googles website says their CEO ‘shares responsibility for Google's day-to-day operations perhaps he will end his silence and explain the reasoning behind this apparent censorship."
