The National Association of Minority and Women-Owned Law Firms is pleased that Indiana University--under the new leadership of Dr. Adam Herbert--has utilized the services of two Indiana-based minority-owned law firms in connection with a recent bond financing.
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) June 24, 2004 -- The National Association of Minority and Women-Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) is pleased that Indiana University—under the new leadership of Dr. Adam Herbert—has utilized the services of two Indiana-based minority-owned law firms in connection with a recent bond financing.
Prior to Dr. Herberts arrival, NAMWOLF urged Indiana University to consider the many qualified minority and women-owned law firms in the state of Indiana for some of its legal work. Indeed, in the year prior to Dr. Herberts arrival, Indiana University spent in excess of $1,703,868 on outside counsel. But less than 1% went to minority-owned law firms.
Fortunately, through Dr. Herberts leadership and vision, Indiana University has now come to recognize that talent and skill can be found in women and minority-owned firms," stated Yolanda Coly, Associate Director of NAMWOLF. The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in June 2001. It is a national trade association comprising a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession. The primary aim of the organization is to advocate for the utilization of minority and women-owned law firms by major corporations and government entities throughout the United States.
