Oprah is inspiration for martial arts-romantic comedy

LaFayette at fifty -?- years of age has completed several screenplays, traveled alone all over the world to look for actors, and money to make her films.

SAN FRANCISCO, Ca (PRWEB) June 30, 2004 -- After several years working behind the scenes in Hollywood as everything from a tour guide, actress, to a street-show performer, Nancee LaFayette thought she had just about enough of show business. Then, one day, while watching an episode of Oprah Winfrey," the guests, several ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things, inspired her; people who overcame everything from obesity, abuse to poor self-esteem. LaFayette realized she had years of knowledge and life lessons to realistically carry out the project of a lifetime. With thirteen years of experience as a Universal Studios employee, experience as an actress, studying independent filmmaking and screenplay writing, she made her decision to go for it. LaFayette at fifty -?- years of age has completed several screenplays, traveled alone all over the world to look for actors, and money to make her films.

To date she is working with Wilco-Dream Studios, Japan, creating a new animated TV series, Nyanjyas," and she has written two films for international English speaking countries, a martial arts romantic comedy Treading Water," One womans journey through love… A cross-cultural romance that features a character named Beryl, a woman who struggles with mid-life crisis about weight, self-esteem, and love. The story is based on my life, women in todays society can relate to the challenges Beryl faces," LaFayette said.

A martial arts thriller, Suspect #1,"… Obsession leaves a bloody trail from Las Vegas to Tokyo… is about brothers torn apart by dysfunctional family dynamics. One brother is accused of murdering his wife while on a visit to Las Vegas. Laura Tate, a Las Vegas Detective, goes to Tokyo to solve the murder, and finds herself in love with the number one suspect. Hiroyuki Watanabe, who starred in the classics, Reborn from Hell," series and Hiroaki Murakami, who starred in Iron Maze," with Bridget Fonda, are handsome popular actors in Japan who have starred in several films and will play the leading male roles.

Carrie Kroon, an avid film viewer, who recently relocated from Minnesota to the bay area, is another person who is counting on the release of LaFayettes films. Although Kroon and LaFayette have never met, Kroon believes American society is craving for films that show Asians dealing with real-life issues. After reviewing LaFayettes work-in-progress, Kroon is confident that a broad spectrum of people will be able to relate to the films. These films will help mainstream society understand that Asians are real people who deal with the same issues everyone else deals with," Kroon said.

These films are about peoples relationships, if one chooses not to learn from and understand their past, they will never understand their future," LaFayette said.
