Sadly, some are abusive. Others get drunk. The rest of us may be revolting.

50plus Online Magazine (50plusMag.com) never fails to be entertaining, informative and at times, irreverent. This month's edition carves out new territory with feature articles on "Surviving Abusive Aging Parents," "Alcohol Misuse among Retirees" and a call to arms for "A New Boomer Revolution."

Mission Viejo CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2004 -- The latest edition of 50plus Online Magazine (also known as 50plusMag.com) tackles some tough subjects. It proves once again that it not afraid of controversy and that it is somewhat different than other sites directed to the 50+ audience.

"Our focus is on contemporary issues approached from a 50+ perspective."

We know theres more to being 50+ than arthritis remedies, retirement villages and our adorable grandchildren. We respect the intelligence of our readers and we'll take on any issue," says Editor Gary Geyer.

For example:

Living with someone who has Alzheimers is never easy, especially if they are abusive as well. Many people 50+ are facing the difficult task of caring for their abusive older parents. Noted advocate, radio host and author of "Elder Rage," Jacqueline Marcell discusses ways to survive it.

Alcohol abuse and misuse among retirees is not uncommon. Those changes in life that retirement brings, at first glance seems to be what we've worked our whole life to achieve. But they often accompany an empty feeling. Editor of 50plusMag.com, Gary Geyer, brings to light a growing concern.

Richard Roberts, author of "I was Much Happier When Everything I Owned was in the Back of my Volkswagen," asks an important question: What will history remember about our generation? He reminds us that with 76 million of us, we now have real power, not just flower power. His call to action: Rise Up, Baby Boomers! And make a difference again

Of course, not all the articles in 50plusMag are serious. Some of them are fun or just plain entertaing.

Dan Lybarger interview Billy Crystal on working with Robert DeNiro.

Theres an article on sex and intimacy called "What Women Past 50 want Men to Understand about Them."

Theres a humorous article called, "Attention Women: Were Men. Get it!"
The article suggests things like, Learn to work the toilet seat. If its up, put it down. Youre a big girl."

This edition include a new 'Brain Squeezer (#6)." that tests the recall of those persistent, ever-present TV spokes-people -- like Mr. Whipple. The archive has many other Brain Squeezers that have readers pleading with us for the answers.

50plusMag.com has been online for almost 3 years and covers a wide variety of issues relavent to those 50+.

The challenge for us is to keep our content stimulating so that people keep checking back -- and hopefully pass our URL on to a friend or two," adds Geyer.

Gary Geyer has been quoted recently in several newspaper articles on senior issues and the 50+ market in general. In addition to being editor of 50plusMag.com, he is President of Alive & Kicking, a marketing company specializing in the 50+ market.
