Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 14, 2004 -- Kathode Ray Music has a limited number of free passes for musicians to attend 2NMC, the Nashville New Music Conference. Normally $350.00, these passes will be given away free on a first-come, first-served basis.

"A lot of independent musicians are really struggling with cash and have a hard time coming up with the money to attend a conference on this level. I thought it would be great to give those guys a break, so I've blocked off a few scholarship passes to let people attend for free," said David Hooper, President of Kathode Ray Music.

The Nashville New Music Conference, also known as 2NMC, (www.2nmc.com) is a three day event held annually in Nashville, TN and features daytime seminars on the music industry as well as nightly showcases from upcoming acts of all genres.

"The vision behind 2NMC is to provide a destination for those in the independent music business who want access to professional networking, promotion help, and marketing information at a level which most conferences can't offer," said Hooper. "This is hardcore, smack 'em in the face music business strategy that we're talking. It can and does help musicians make more money with their music. It's not theory about what might work, it's what does work."

A key feature that differentiates 2NMC from the growing number of independent music conferences is a unique emphasis on direct marketing. Musicians are encouraged to do business directly with their customers rather than bring in outside sources who will take a big percentage of their income and affect their bottom line.

"Earning a lot of money in the music business and keeping 100% of it is the way to go," said Hooper. "And we can show musicians how to do that. Or, if a label is your dream, we can show you how to do that too. This conference is custom tailored for our attendees. We focus on their goals."
