New York City, NY (PRWEB) July 19, 2004 -- Nomenil Theatre Company Chicago, is proud to present the New York premiere of Love Pollution: A Tekno-Popera. Written by Allen Conkle and Courtney Evans, and directed by Allen Conkle with original music by Christopher Powers of Three Dollar Bill, Choreography by Jessica Hudson of Chicago Drag Kings.
Love Pollution: A Tekno-Popera is a post-pop adult revolutionary fable. A voluptuous sex kitten robot and her quirky creators struggle to find truth and love in a pre-apocalyptic world of mindless consumerism and ugliness. Love Pollution's score is a fusion of electronica, techno, punk, opera, pop and show tunes, and includes addictive numbers such as the dance tune "Murder of Innocence" and the haunting ballad "The Truth is Deceiving."
Jennifer Vanasco of the Chicago Reader described it as, "A Rocky Horror meets Pinocchio musical." Reader Critic Jack Helbig said, "The cast's remarkable comic performances are drop-dead brilliant." Love Pollution: A Tekno-Popera is presented as part of the New York City 2004 International Fringe Festival. A member of the Chicago theater community for 11 years, Nomenil Theatre Company has produced 12 original works including Like Our Parents Smoking Cornsilk, Pushin' Up Roses, Woman Alive and That's The Way It Is By Golly.
