Without a doubt, the program is varied and substantial it once again ilustrates why LaCinemaFe is one of the most important cultural institutions for New Yorkers who love film. Guests of honor will include actors, producers and directors from Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Perú, Argentina, Spain, and México. They will present their films and will also take part in film discussions as part of LaCinemaFes effort to establish a rich and enduring relationship with the audience. Latin American Cinema has become a strong contender in the international film market thanks to the artistic vision of directors whose work displays the social, economic and cultural diversity of the region. It is with this in mind that LaCinemaFe 2004 endeavors to present current aesthetic and thematic trends of Latin American film so New Yorkers may follow more closely the future works of young directors, while keeping in mind the fine work established by older, master filmmakers. Armando Guareño, founder and executive director of LaCinemaFe, has achieved a program consistent with the hot streak currently being enjoyed by Latin American Cinema. It is a program that will help serve as a guide to the moviegoer who wants to get to know our continent in a more complex way.

The 3rd Annual LaCinemaFe Film Festival is presented by Clearview Cinemas and is once again supported by media sponsors: Telemundo, Hoy, Radio Wado and Latino Mix, Funding is also provided in part by the NYS Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
