While most financial experts" tell people drowning in debt to cut up their credit cards, money coach and author Lynnette Khalfani offers the exact opposite advice in her new book, Zero Debt: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Freedom.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 16, 2004 -- The truth of the matter is that we live in a credit-driven society," Khalfani writes in the introduction to Zero Debt. Its unrealistic, and in some cases detrimental to you, to simply say: ‘I wont buy on credit, or ‘I will never use credit cards." So just cutting up credit cards is a shortsighted, temporary solution at best, she contends.

Khalfani, a former Wall Street Journal reporter for CNBC, has personally conquered more than $100,000 in credit card debt, and she did it WITHOUT filing bankruptcy, enrolling in a debt management plan, credit counseling or getting any negative marks on her credit. Even though I had so much debt, I never missed a payment or had a bill collector call my house. Nevertheless, Im happy to say that Ive now eliminated all my credit card debt."

If I could do it," she adds, I know millions of other people out there can too – armed with the right knowledge and the strategies found in Zero Debt."

Zero Debt is written as a 30-day action plan for those looking to jumpstart their finances; get out of debt; and save more money. The book also helps consumers put a financial fortress around themselves, by offering tips on budgeting, the importance of having insurance, low-cost strategies for creating an updated will, advice on how to instantly put dollars in your pocket, and more.

Khalfani writes a syndicated column called Financially Fit" and can be seen on national TV programs across the country dispensing practical personal finance education. She also teaches financial literacy workshops and seminars that focus on money management, credit, debt, financial planning and investments.

Khalfanis first book was called Investing Success: How to Conquer 30 Costly Mistakes & Multiply Your Wealth! She lives in northern New Jersey, and is available for radio, television, newspaper or magazine interviews about Zero Debt or Investing Success.
