Award-winning interactive computer games will teach the English language to pre-school and primary school children throughout The People's Republic of China

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 15, 2004 -- READER RABBIT, the #1 Reading Software Brand in America, is being introduced in China to help Chinese children with their English language education.

Sold in over 40 countries & translated in 12 languages, Reader Rabbit has received the praise and recognition of over 200 international awards including the Gold Award from National Parenting Publications and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers.

The pre-K through 4th Grade interactive series, will be localized in China and supported with teacher training, Internet assistance, television, text books, and educational merchandising to help reinforce the value of Reader Rabbit lessons in Chinese homes and schools.

China is currently introducing a new educational standard of excellence for English language education in primary schools, and the quality and continuity of Reader Rabbit is being recognized as supporting that excellence", said Sander Johnson, president of American Television in China (ATC) who licensed the China rights. We are proudly implementing a complete matrix of media support and cross-promotion to help launch Reader Rabbit nationwide".

ATC has a committed philosophy to teach the children of China the English language with the worlds finest programs. With over 236,000 Kindergartens and 460,000 primary schools, it is an untapped market rich with desire for the best America can offer.

The ATC Chinese partners have demonstrated successful localization of The Discovery Channel multimedia materials (52 VCDs, 34 books and 34 interactive CD-ROM) by receiving Chinese Government endorsement and school approval. We have a unique ability to align our multimedia with the new Chinese Educational Syllabus and reach the enormous primary school market" said Michael R. Polin, CEO of ATC.

ATC will showcase Reader Rabbit products and activities for the Chinese government and media, at the International Forum on the Chinese Cultural Industry being held in Shanxi, China, September 12-15. This years main themes and topics are animation and childrens education and Reader Rabbit is being highlighted as a model of international cooperation in this field.

Within a few years, ATC believes the sales revenues of Reader Rabbit products in China could potentially dwarf those of the U.S., due to the sheer size of the market.

With the increasing demand from Chinese parents and teachers for quality and continuity in English language education," Polin concluded, Reader Rabbit is in a position to become a mainstay in Chinese culture, by providing educational learning materials that will help Chinese children in school and in life."

AMERICAN TELEVISION in CHINA (ATC) is a California corporation dedicated to introducing the best of American education to the Children of China through books, television, and interactive media.
