The Austin Voice, a bi-weekly newspaper on Chicagos west side has invited Cano Publishing Company to represent them. The Austin Voice has numerous goals they expect Cano will deliver them, including increased advertising revenue, a more often frequent publication cycle, office space, a community development corporation, and general growth.
(PRWEB) August 21, 2004 -- Currently very few large corporations advertise with the Austin Voice, which dominates community publications on Chicagos west side, which is predominantly lower-income, African American. Cano promises to gain more recognition from bigger name corporations, thus simultaneously helping to finance the newspaper while bringing more recognition and respect to the neighborhood.
The newspaper is only published bi-weekly, which severely limits the coverage and possibilities of the paper. Cano has assured the Austin Voice they will work to increase the frequency of publications both through operation and development management. Office space is also an immediate concern. The Austin Voice is owned by its employees thus budgets are often limited in scope. Cano intends to renovate their current offices and refurbish whatever possible. The Austin Voice also expressed a desire to Cano to begin a community development corporation that will provide youths on the West Side with life experience training and prepare them for success in economics.
Cano Publishing Company has already showed a great success in many of these areas, especially community development, since the company recently secured a grant for over one-million dollars for another community development corporation.
