A local Hollywood artist obtained rights to produce and distribute original artworks. Available nowhere else in the world! One of a kind beautiful multi-colored oil and chalk pastel rubbings (frottages) of actual stars imbedded in the sidewalk on the Walk of Fame in Hollwood. Personalized stars are also available.

West Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2004 -- Own a star like James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Hope, Kirk Douglas, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles or personalize a star with any name or company name for yourself or as a gift. Thousands are available from the Walk of Fame or any name you can think of (fabricated).

Walk of Fame Art opens for business in Los Angeles, making available to the public for the first time, original rubbings (Frottages) of the actual stars imbedded in the sidewalk on the Walk of Fame here in Hollywood. Each beautiful 100% cotton, multi-colored, oil and chalk pastel Frottage is hand-rubbed directly from the Walk of Fame. Each is signed and numbered by the artist and is accompanied with a notarized certificate of its
authenticity. The actual size of the stars and the artwork is 3 ft. by 3 ft. This artwork is available nowhere else in the world. Lithographs and digital reprints are also available for companies interested in large scale distribution. Each original is copyrighted and licensed. Walk of Fame Art is licensed and authorized solely by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Distributions rights are for Europe, Japan, and North America.

Many production companies and the artist's themselves have commissioned or received these artworks for themselves such as David Copperfield (see website), Playboy, Dreamworks (Steven Spielberg), Wayne Brady and Chris Tucker. Some of these were fabricated, but cannot be told apart from an original.

Paul Lawrence Price, owner and artist of Walk of Fame Art, originally a native of Louisiana and now a permanent resident of Los Angeles for the past 20 years, states, "Back in the '80s and '90s, I was touring England and the U.S. with the premiere Liverpool rock band, Echo & the Bunnymen. A mutual friend of the band took me out and did some street design rubbings. Later I returned the favor when we were down in New Orleans and took him around
to the above ground gravesites for some of our favorite Frottages. After settling in L.A., I began producing mostly street designs from manhole covers, water sewers, etc.

"Eventually, one day, as I was doing some work on the Walk of Fame, I thought, 'Lets try one of these,' and I did a Marilyn Monroe star. The next day, I brought the artwork directly to the Chamber of Commerce. Johnny Grant and Micheal Tileman were very receptive and excited about the quality of the work. They generously put me in contact with the licensing company for the Walk of Fame."

A licensing agreement was reached, and now Walk of Fame Art Productions are available to the world. Investment and distribution is available for interested companies and/or individuals, as well as mail-order inquiries. For samples on the internet visit
