ColoServe Announces New Network Peering with PAIX

ColoServe, San Francisco's Premier Colocation Service, is now peering with more than 37 other networks using Switch and Data's PAIX (Peering And Internet eXchange) in Palo Alto.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 26, 2004 -- ColoServe, San Francisco's Premier Colocation Service, is now peering with more than 37 other networks using Switch and Data's PAIX (Peering And Internet eXchange) in Palo Alto.

In addition to its 4 major Internet backbone providers, ColoServe has installed new fiber from Looking Glass Networks to connect to Switch and Data's Palo Alto facility, which features the largest commercial, neutral Internet Exchange point in the world, where major Telecom carriers, Internet providers, and content networks exchange Internet traffic.

ColoServe is currently peering with companies such as Yahoo, Microsoft, Cogent/PSInet, Akamai, UltraDNS, Telewest, Globix, CENIC/CalREN2 (University of California system and Stanford), and Japan Telecom, to name just a few.

What this means is that ColoServe is now connecting directly to these 37 networks, so Internet traffic from ColoServe customers can reach its destination significantly faster. For example, Internet traffic bound for Japan may have previously gone through 6-10 different networks or "hops" to reach its destination. With the new peering arrangement in place, traffic can go from ColoServe in San Francisco through Palo Alto and then directly to Tokyo via Japan Telecom.

"While we offer carrier neutral options for customers who want to arrange for their own bandwidth, we find that most customers are thrilled by our multiple Internet backbones all in one easy connection." said John Keagy, President of ColoServe. Now with our new peering agreements with Switch and Datas PAIX participants, customers are seeing even faster connection speeds and unbeatable network performance."

ColoServe is much more than just a "carrier neutral" space provider. In addition to the option of connecting to the Internet through a bevy of third parties, ColoServe customers have the option of connecting through the ColoServe network. ColoServe operates its own network that is superior to any other network available in the Bay Area, with multi-homed bandwidth provided by UUNet, Level 3, NTT/Verio, and AboveNet, ready to go for customers to simply plug into with a single connection.

The new fiber to Switch and Datas Palo Alto PAIX for peering with 37 other networks extends the depth and breadth of this network. Direct connections to over 40 networks plus available protection against DoS attacks and security services make the ColoServe network the Bay Area's best.
