Drag Personality and multi-award winning producer have "High Hopes in Low Heels!"

A new evening of cabaret theatre from celebrated drag performer Bridgette of Madison County, fresh off the heels of her one (wo)man show "Bridgette Over Troubled Waters."

HOLLYWOOD, CA (PRWEB) September 3, 2004 -- James A. Blackman III, Executive Director/Producer of the Civic Light Opera of the South Bay Cities is branching out, but this time… its a drag. Together with Micah McCain, best known as the breakout personality from The AMC Project: Gay Hollywood" they are presenting: High Hopes in Low Heels!" – An evening of singing, dancing and comedy.

The California native McCains credits include 2003s The AMC Project: Gay Hollywood which established him nationwide and thrust him to the forefront of entertainment as his alter-ego Bridgette of Madison County in both gay and main stream audiences, BASEketball, NYPD Blue and the 2002 No Dance Audience Award Winner," Hip Edgy Sexy Cool. McCain was mentored into stand up comedy by comedienne Judy Tenuta and has performed at The Comedy Store, The Improv Hollywood, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, The Hollywood Bowl and The House Of Blues Los Angeles.

High Hopes in Low Heels!" is part cabaret, part confessional; McCain blends skewered classic Broadway show tunes with his razor sharp candor. After a successful out-of-town trial run, Micah is back as Bridgette to prove shes more than the sum of her parts.

In the 1980s, Blackman, originally the managing director of the resident company at the Pasadena Civic, was wooed away to Santa Barbara C.L.O. From there he opened the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities in August of 1991, which is now Southern Californias largest producing civic light opera and has won multiple awards. Other venues he is currently working with include The El Portal in the NoHo Arts District, the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, and now The Globe Playhouse in West Hollywood.

The first time these two personalities met was in 1991, when Blackman was going to local schools to promote the need for local talent in his then unopened Civic Light Opera. McCain was a student in one of the drama classes he spoke at. Having both come from low incoming childhoods and having the same passion for a successful future and a way out, these two are ecstatic about being a part of each others careers and futures.
