Headline Charley, Frances, Ivan and the dying fisherman.

42 year old Blais Ruelle has terminal ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) The boat he rented from neighbor for fishing sank in Hurricane Charley. Blais insured boat (neighbor didn't have nor want insurance) and put thousands into it, but neighbor kept all of $10,500 insurance payment. No boat, no money to enjoy the one thing he had left.

Punta Gorda, FL (PRWEB) September 8, 2004 -- How much can a dying man take?

42 year old Blais Ruelle of 2609 Rio Tiber, Florida has the worst possible form of Muscular Dystrophy , ALS (Lou Gehrigs). There is no cure and no treatment. Several months ago, he moved in with parents in Punta Gorda, FL. 33950.

One of the only pleasures in the time he has left is to go out fishing. He rented a boat from the neighbor for $200 per month. Blais took out heavy insurance on the boat since the neighbor neither had nor wanted insurance. He also spent thousands repairing and outfitting the boat.

One week after finishing the renovation, Hurricane Charley totals the boat. Neighbor says "Touch luck, buddy, it's my boat and pockets all of the $10,500 insurance check.

One week later Hurricane Frances floods town. Now he's sitting in a wrecked retirement community with no money nor equipment to replace boat-- waiting on Hurricane Ivan.

He said "All I had left was that boat and my once-a-week fishing trip.
