The ‘Clinton Syndrome – Nutritional Options for Prevention

Reduce Arterial Plaque & Support Cardiovascular Health. Leptinal with DHA, formulated by Byron Richards, Certified Clinical Nutritionist and author of Mastering Leptin.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 17, 2004 -- The recent health problems of President Clinton have placed on new focus on cardiovascular problems, especially for men. While the presidents situation was so serious that it required immediate surgical intervention, many millions of others are wondering if there is any new information about how to deal with existing plaque.

Existing plaque poses the greatest risk if it becomes unstable. In this situation it may break loose and block an artery. Unstable plaque is caused by inflammation due to some type of stress – emotional, illness, chemical (pollution, smoking, excess alcohol), and/or physical wear and tear.

On Wednesday, September 8, 2004 the FDA approved a heart healthy claim for omega 3 oils, commonly found in salmon and tuna. The omega 3 oils, especially DHA, have numerous studies demonstrating their cardiovascular value. In February of 2003 a groundbreaking study was published in the British Medical Journal Lancet showing dietary intake of DHA incorporated itself into existing plaques, reducing inflammation in the plaque and stabilizing the plaque – literally reducing the chance of plaque rupturing and causing a heart attack. The research team felt this was a likely explanation for the reduced deaths from heart disease based on omega 3 oil intake.

Just this week a study to be published in the October Journal of Hypertension was released; showing that daily intake of fish can lower weight and blood pressure far more effectively than diet alone. It specifically did this by lowering leptin levels, the new primary risk factor for heart disease.

At the same time our government is announcing that omega 3 intake is helpful for heart disease, they are also warning against regular fish intake due to contamination of the food supply as fish frequently have higher levels of mercury and other toxins.

Consumers can take advantage of the cardiovascular benefits of fish oils without the risk of toxic contamination by unique molecularly distilled DHA supplements that are completely free of all mercury and toxins. A special nutritional formulation called Leptinal, rich in molecularly distilled DHA, GLA, CLA, and tocotrienols, is specially designed to reduce cardiovascular inflammation, reduce risk for plaque accumulation and stabilize existing plaque, reduce excess leptin, and aid weight loss.
