VoteAndPray.com Urges Christian Young Adults to Move from the Pews to the Voting Booths

The Cause USA has launched "Vote and Pray," committed to calling to action college-aged young adults across the country to pray, register, vote and encourage others to follow their lead. The organization has a vision to mobilize one million Christian young adults to pray, vote and recruit 10 others who have never registered to do the same.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) September 18, 2004 -- Colorado Springs-based organization, The Cause USA, has launched Vote and Pray," a movement committed to calling to action college-aged young adults across the country to pray, register, vote and encourage others to follow their lead.

Our nation is in a fundamental national and moral crisis with the coming elections," states Lou Engle, founder of The Cause USA and co-founder of The Call, which gathered 400,000 youth in 2000 to pray on the Mall in Washington, D.C. And it is our prayer that Christian young adults will not abdicate their responsibility to vote and pray for God to put righteous leaders in office."

Most young adults today do not realize the impact they can have on our nation by simply registering and voting.

Engle elaborates, MTV and ‘Rock the Vote understand the college/young adult vote is untapped and has the potential to swing the election. As Christians, we must do our best to rally the next generation to rise up and stand for righteousness by voting and praying in order to make a difference. We believe these upcoming elections provide a flashpoint opportunity to seize the day and shape the future."

Vote and Pray: The Cause USA" has a vision to mobilize one million Christian young adults to pray, vote and recruit 10 others who have never registered to do the same. The website, www.voteandpray.com spells out exactly how young people can do their part to help accomplish this goal.

In addition to making a commitment on a personal level, college students are also encouraged to spread awareness campus-wide by holding weekly prayer groups, posting flyers throughout their campus and banners on websites, handing out pamphlets, contacting campus fellowships and local churches as well as recruiting others from their network of friends to help get the word out.
