Al Gores Cable Channel: Too Late? Young Adults Have Already Taken Matters Into Their Own Hands

Al Gore's new cable channel is the right idea, but a group of young adults have already created political programming geared toward their generation.

LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) September 29, 2004 -- Al Gores new cable network, INdTV, will deliver youth oriented news and information sometime in Spring 2005, but young adults have beaten him to the punch. The Political Channel (PCTV) has debuted with dynamic political programming created, produced and distributed by young adults themselves.

Will the young generation believe Gore as a non-partisan cool guy delivering news and information? Possibly," said G. Michael Torres, co-founder of PCTV … but who better to create programming for our generation than our generation?" Using ideas, talent and production crews from Generations X and Y, PCTV (www.politicalchannel.tv) streams a variety of programming like sketch comedy episode Conservative Eye For The Liberal Guy, no-holds-barred debate in Take Issue with Rob Nelson, and sharp rants from TH.U.N.K. – the Unknown News King.

Co-founder Zev Suissa noted, By delivering fresh and irreverent content, and hosting easy to use information about politicians and current events, weve created an effective platform to reach, inspire and empower young adults to get out there and get involved."

Suissa and Torres launched online in order to cater to young adults news consumption habits. The Internet is a perfect place to start PCTVs journey," said Torres, 80% of people under 35 get their news and information online." While PCTV is also developing shows for networks and cable stations like Gores, they deemed the internet the best place to launch a new channel for the young demographic. Suissa said, Weve got a full development slate of scripted and unscripted programming thats ready for both web and Network, but when it comes to this demographic, its imperative to include a legitimate web presence."

The Political Channel is a multimedia entity providing political entertainment to mainstream Americans. Through production, distribution, and publication of TV, film, radio, and print, PCTV delivers an entertaining, relevant, and accessible approach to politics. PCTV is a nonpartisan outlet empowering the growing voice of the people.
