Academy Award Winner Cliff Robertson Stars With an All Star Cast in Stephen King's Riding the Bullet

Stephen King's Riding the Bullet Premiers in LA on 10/4, opens in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Phoenix on 10/15, then opens wide on 10/22

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2004 -- Hitch-hiking along the narrow backwoods roads of Maine on a pitch-black Autumn night, a college student makes a crisscrossing journey to reach the hospital where his mother lay dying. As he persists on his way, which grows into a moving odyssey of unexpected proportions, he faces not only very real demons from his past, but uncertainties from the present. And, he soon discovers, the imminent prospect of his own death, as well.

Stephen Kings Riding the Bullet," is an intimate horror story, starring Jonathan Jackson, David Arquette, Barbara Hershey, Erika Christensen and Cliff Robertson. Based on the best selling e-book short story by Stephen King, the film tells of the terrifying travels a young man, forced to go on, as he battles through a part of his life that returns to challenge him.

The ‘bullet of Stephen Kings Riding the Bullet" is a rollercoaster. It features prominently in the childhood of Alan Parker, and then, to the intense displeasure of the young man, even more so terrifyingly during the present day. Or rather, night.

This was a role unlike any Cliff Robertson had ever done. In fact, it may even be difficult for most people to realize for a while that its Robertson in the movie, so immersed does he get into the character, a scraggly, mysterious, old Maine farmer who picks-up the hitchhiking Alan against the students better judgment.

Moreover, to everyones surprise, Robertson actually did the unthinkable." He came in to the film site early, for no other reason than just to get acclimated and settled. He just wanted to be there with everyone," producer Brad Krevoy relates, still surprised after all these months. Actors dont do that. Hed be at the set and simply tell stories if you asked. The production team would get together for dinner, and hed just come on along. It was wonderful."

For the film's director, Mick Garris, the experience was an especially memorable one. Wed talk and talk about all manner of things, things having absolutely nothing to do with movies. By the end of his time there, it turned out we had so much of our backgrounds in common. He was so terrific, and I cant tell you how much he brought to the film."

The film was written, directed and produced by Mick Garris. Stephen King and David Lancaster are the producers. It is also produced by Brad Krevoy, Frank Huebner and Joel T. Smith.

The film opens in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Phoenix on October 15, then opens wide on October 22.

Additional detailed information on the production and cast is available by e-mail upon request.
