Medical Supply Chain Targets Health Cares Out of Control and Artificially Inflated Supply Costs With The Next Generation of e-Commerce

Firm Expects Hundreds of New Professional Jobs To Be Created

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 11, 2005 -- Medical Supply Chain, Inc. has launched the answer to the rising health care supply costs and is the first independent marketplace to empower health systems to directly lower supply costs. This long awaited opportunity has arrived to displace cost avoidance programs created by the inefficient and often anticompetitive GPO groups. Health care providers will no longer require intermediation from third party aggregators in order to drive down supply costs.

Medical Supply had planned to expand its independent e-commerce marketplace in December 2002 but it learned first hand about the market and legal power of the dominant suppliers who sought to control all health care supply e-commerce platforms and were determined to keep competition out of the market. The dominant suppliers were successful in rooting out competition as almost one hundred potential competitors were, one by one, forced out of business. When the dominant suppliers discovered the Medical Supply Chain plan, these same power brokers attempted to use a Medicare anti-kickback safe harbor and even the USA PATRIOT Act to prevent hospitals from being able to have access to Medical Supplys superior technology platform.

While the monopolists held Medical Supply out of the market, its founders utilized the opportunity to advance the companys already significant technological lead and combined supply chain communication tools delivered via the Internet. This new technology platform makes it possible for hospital supply chain managers and their suppliers to efficiently manage and exchange vital information. Medical Supplys already superior technology automates data capture and contractual relationships and completely manages procurement, fulfillment, inventory, logistics, and settlement activities. Medical Supplys systems operate through an ASP model and like its communication platform requires only a web browser and an Internet connection to operate. These services are projected to help hospital systems reverse the current financial trends, improve their own profitability and play a role in making health care more affordable for all Americans.

Medical Supply will immediately begin preparing health care providers to regain control over their supply chains with Supply Chain Management CertificationTM; a curriculum offering health care supply chain education and unique insight into the inner workings of the supply chain from an insiders perspective. Additionally, hundreds of field engineers will be recruited to service health care providers application needs. Medical Supply anticipates many of these engineers will come from the existing supplier organizations and bring with them their relationships with key hospital decision makers. Medical Supply will certify these individuals and equip them with the tools and knowledge to eliminate many of the misaligned incentives and questionable business practices that have contributed to higher supply costs and artificially limited market choices.

Today the doors open to a whole new world for the hundreds of health care suppliers and device manufacturers that are currently held out of health care markets worldwide. US hospitals now have a market platform to purchase and manage products from outside the anticompetitive contracts and kickbacks designed to extort market participants and artificially inflate prices. Medical Supply Chain delivers the industrys first strategic combination of technology, communications and market intelligence, all designed to make any hospital, regardless of its size, the master of its own supply chain.
