Somerville, NJ (PRWEB) January 17, 2005 -- Trutek, the makers of NasalGuard, a topical gel that you place around the nostrils to filter the inhalation of allergens, has developed an enhanced version of its product that may help prevent catching the flu.
Under test conditions, Truteks enhanced gel demonstrated a reduction in viral titer of the Influenza A" virus greater than 99% by topical contact. The Ex-Vivo Skin Model test was conducted by St. Paul, Minnesota based ATS Labs.
Truteks gel is based on a patented methodology of applying a localized electrostatic filtering field around the nasal passages. All airborne particles have some type of charge to them. Using a proprietary formula, we are able to create an opposite charge in a topical gel that can keep allergens out of the nasal passages. Now, were starting to apply the same concept to a new gel that will not only capture an airborne virus, but will kill it." says Munish Suri, General Manager of Trutek.
Our next step will be to solicit interest from the medical community to conduct a clinical study to take to the FDA and have a Topical Gel Flu Filter early next year." states Dr. Paul Ratner, Truteks Medical Affairs Director.
The results of the preliminary study are available by request on the companys website at www.trutekcorp.com. More information about its NasalGuard product can be found on www.nasalguard.com.
