(PRWEB) January 9, 2005 -- With advanced quick change features incorporated on C-Series and CS-Series Thermoformers with T-Series and V-Series Trim Presses our customers are achieving Product-to-Product changeover in less than two hours! Several of the quick change items are standard features and a variety of other items can be included as options.

Recipe storage is available through the Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) to quickly download key process variables. Form, Index, Oven, Feed and Eject variables can be retained and then downloaded into the process controllers for immediate product/process set-up. A note section within the recipe also allows for keeping key process notes and settings for auxiliary equipment set-up.

The rails on the thermoformer are designed from rigid channel that not only provide stability, but incorporate v-tracks mounted on top of the rails to roll the tool in/out of the form station with ease. No additional tool carts are required. Virtually tool-less mold changes are accomplished by utilizing quick change cylinders within the upper and lower platens coupled with utility quick disconnects. Platen strokes on the CS-Series equipment is accomplished though the HMI eliminating all mechanical adjustments. Servo valves for the Vacuum Bleed and Air Ejection Functions and an electrically controlled regulator for the Blow Form allows for process recipe set-up. Motorized Rails facilitate a quick and accurate re-positioning of the rails for different sheet widths.

The trim press incorporates a side loading feature that allows the trim tool assembly to be rolled in and out. This also can eliminate the need to remove parts tables, part handling equipment and granulators during tool change. Quick change cylinders within the moving platen permit the moving side of the tool to be quickly mounted for final alignment with the stationary tool side. The stationary side is then bolted into a rigid position. On both the Servo Flex and Servo Nip feed systems, variables are set-up and controlled through the HMI, again eliminating the need for mechanical adjustments. The treadle systems not only accurately position the product for trim but incorporate quick change features that allow easy removal of the front and back treadle rods with pre-positioned sheet guides, or quick adjust sheet guides on treadle rods with scaled sheet guide locations. The treadle also has a pneumatic actuated quick open feature to easily pass the web through the treadle for set-up and facilitates an easy clean-out. The ejector timing and stroke is adjustable through the HMI with no mechanical changes and also incorporates quick change cylinders to allow rapid change of the ejector plate and rods. The power nip feed canopy can be equipped with quick adjust guide rods with scaled locators that permit easy positioning when changing to different products.

Quick change does not end with the equipment. Features within the tooling complement various features on the machine to quickly change the mold base, pressure box and trim assemblies. Further, when simply making a product change Brown offers multiple tool-less quick change features of inserts and plug assists proven to decrease changeover time up to 92% over conventional methods.

Talk to Brown for how you can spend more time producing from your machine as opposed to setting it up.
