Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2005 -- Reflecting on Charles childhood through his music, How Many Tears" describes the struggle and dedication of a mother trying to raise nine children in poverty, Free Your Mind" carries an upbeat, playful message in a dance groove, while In the Name of God" addresses the hatred and violence perpetrated in the name of religion. On the Other Side" is a soothing and uplifting affirmation of our connection to a spiritual source.

Charles music might best be describes as fusion pop" enticingly blending R&B, alternative world music with smooth jazz and rock elements. Though some have compared his sound to Maxwell and Seal, The Other Side" showcase Charley Charles unique, soulful vocal style.

Charles overwhelming desire to make music first manifested at the age of nine. While living in conditions of object poverty, he dismantled his father's wooden bookshelf in order to build his first guitar, using fish hooks for tuners and bicycle brake cable for strings. By the age of 14, he was playing professionally in Nigerian nightclubs, eventually joining Grammy award-winning reggae group The Mandators as a singer, bass player and producer.

When he came to America in the early ‘90s, Charles spent some time living in his car in east Oakland, while working as a room service waiter to put himself through school and develop the skill that would provide a foundation for entering the world of digital sound engineering. Charles next move was to Southern California in 2001 where he signed a recording contract with independent label Coliseum Records and teamed with L.A. Songwriter/ Producer, Steve Zelman to begin production on the 12 original songs which along with a cover of Michael Boltons Soul Provider, comprise the new CD.

Coliseum Records, Inc. "the future of great music is an independent label based in Pasadena, California.
