Educator Develops New Anti-flu Serum for College Students on Academic Probation

Too many students are dropping out of college after their first semester. There is a remedy for Academic Probation students must endure. The nation will suffer if more than 50% of college students drop out.

(PRWEB) January 11, 2005 -- According to Dr. Stephen Jones, every year thousands of students suffer from an unusual flu like symptoms associated with their first semester of college. The flu starts when the student receives their first quiz or test back. A migraine headache or upset stomach ensues that causes the student to miss four more classes that week. The student feels justified since their instructor doesnt like him/her in the first place. This student is not aware that they are among 53% of students who drop out of college each year. Left untreated this student will suffer additional symptoms including feelings of isolation, unwillingness to seek help from a tutor, failure to read text books prior to class and the 20 pounds new college students gain when they finish their first semester. Some students decide to party the semester away and ignore the symptoms. The colleges reaction is to send you out into the cold with a new label called Academic Probation.

Did you know that millions of students are suffering from the academic probation flu during January? They are thinking about giving up on their dream. There seems to be no way out. Dr. Jones recommends that students start anti-flu serum that will attack the academic probation sickness. Many college graduates fail to remember how difficult it was to make it through that first semester and that they are part of the anti-flu serum that can help a student to make it one more semester. Your words have power to motivate a student to get up from their bed and to get charged up for another semester.

Dr. Jones has assisted hundreds of students who were on probation after their first semester. He has discovered that many of these students start off with new resolve during their second semester but they drift back into their old patterns after the first two weeks. The academic probation sickness returns just like the person who does not complete the entire bottle of serum. Dr. Jones recommends the following strategies to students:

1.   Meet with every instructor at the beginning of the semester to find out their expectations
2.   Go to every class even when you dont feel like attending. The day that you miss classes will result in the loss of valuable information
3.   Get tutoring from an instructor, tutor or teaching assistant right away
4.   Participate in a study group or create one to supplement your own study time
5.   Make a commitment to study a minimum of five hours each day
6.   Have a discussion about your subject with other students daily
7.   Join a club in your area of study. If you are studying engineering join the American Civil Engineer Society.
8.   Implement a formal time management schedule.

According to Dr. Jones your past does not equal your present. Students can have a healthy and successful semester if they make a commitment to following the prescribed directions. Take full advantage of all of the resources that are available to you and dont stop when grades start to improve. Keep doing the things that result in success.

Dr. Stephen Jones recommendation is that you take advantage of his anti-flu strategy. He is a nationally acclaimed author of "Seven Secrets of How to Study"(ISBN#0974082406) http://www.sevensecrets-books.com. Every student should purchase this book right away. Dr. Jones ultimate goal is to give presentations in every state in the country. You may reach Dr. Jones directly via his toll free number 1.800.533.6032 or by e-mailing him at stephenjoness@rcn.com
