Tsunami Fundraising Update

The Wealth of Nations Foundation to Build the First Orphanage in India for the Tsunami Victims

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2005 -- The Wealth of Nations Foundation, one of the foremost organizations dedicated to the needs of hurting children, has already raised enough money to begin construction on the first orphanage in Madras, India bringing relief to the tsunami victims.

Founder of the Wealth of Nations Foundation, Jhayne Eddy, quickly formed a Tsunami Relief Committee consisting of leading members of the Indian community including: Director Bob Balan, Mark Mullai, Baskar Pandian, Dr. M.R. Pandian and Odai Peri.

Because 100% of the money donated goes directly to the victims and their needs," states Jhayne Eddy, and because we already have distribution channels in place, funds donated last week are already making an impact to bring aid and relief in India."

Several committees within the WON Foundation have upcoming fundraisers planned. Kids helping Kids, inspired by Suthya Peri, a 9 year old boy from Lakewood California has already raised $1,100 in his neighborhood. Another fundraiser, a school-wide assembly of over 2,000 students, organized by High School Junior, Preethi Elango will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Calabasas High School.

A Fathers Heart Committee, an executive division of the Wealth of Nations Foundation, men from all areas of business, government and entertainment who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children everywhere, is continuing fundraising efforts. Members of A Fathers Heart include: U.S. District Judge Ronald S. W. Lew; Michel Papadaki, Chairman Hollywood Christmas Parade; William "BLINKY" Rodriquez, Executive Director of Communities In Schools of Los Angeles & San Fernando Valley; and John Hill, Chief of Staff for L.A. County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke.

Born in Madras, the fourth largest city in India, located on the south eastern coast, founder Jhayne Eddy has a personal connection with the people and victims. As a child," says Eddy, I played on the same seashore where thousands of children drowned. I am personally expediting the rebuilding process in India to ensure that the resources help to restore their lives as quickly as possible."

Jhayne Eddy was recently honored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for her work and efforts to help the children of Los Angeles.
