New Email Marketing Software System

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

ActivSoftware, Inc. entered this new market as one of only two providers of a downloadable, enterprise-level, email list management system.

(PRWEB) January 16, 2005 -- ActivSoftware (http://www.activsoftware.com), a Central New York firm, today announced the release of ActivMailMan, an email marketing software system. ActivMailMan (http://www.activmailman.com) is an enterprise level email list management system. The system can be downloaded and installed onto third party servers providing individual ISPs, and other types of business-to-business firms, with the ability to offer a fully functional email list management system to clients. The system is very similar to that provided by ExactTarget, (http://www.exacttarget.com), an ASP-style list management system.

The release of ActivMailMan comes on the heels of the release of XM Mail Server. XMS is an enterprise level, and downloadable, business class email server. ActivSoftware is the only firm currently offering both a new age email server and an email list management system to install on third party servers. ActivSoftware also offers an appliance with their email systems pre-loaded on the server.

Both of the products can be used independently or integrated together. Kraeger continued, One example is that you can use ActivMailMan no matter which outbound e-mail, or SMTP, server you use. However, we highly recommend using a business class server, not a standard email server.
The decision whether to buy these systems for in-house use or rent the functionality through third party, ASP, firms has not really changed through time. Although the technology has changed the decision to buy or rent is based upon in-house resources and cash available. It is almost always better financially, longer term, to own, but renting spreads the cash allotment through time, thus it is easier short-term to rent. As always, some will rent and others will take the up-front hit and buy.

According to Gary Kraeger, President of ActivSoftware, Our products pay for themselves in about one year. If you compare the total cost of our products with the monthly pricing of comparable systems." Both of the products can be used independently or integrated together. Kraeger continued, One example is that you can use ActivMailMan no matter which outbound e-mail, or SMTP, server you use. However, we highly recommend using a business class server, not a standard email server."
