From the set of the internationally popular phenomena and Emmy-Award winning series, "Twin Peaks" comes a rare chance to own a piece of television history!

(PRWEB) January 24, 2005 -- On eBay Now. Saturday, January 22 through Friday January 28, from the set of the popular 1990's television phenomena, "TWIN PEAKS" come the set of Art Deco, circa 1940's barstools taken directly from the set of the world famous Double R Diner in "Twin Peaks" Cafe. These are not reproductions, these are the actual barstools.

The Original Barstools installed in the former Thompson's Cafe in the 1940's, then re-named the "Mar-T" Cafe in the 1950's and continued to be a regular stop for over-the-mountain pass travelers and locals.

cherry pie and Damn fine cup o' coffee!
In 1990, on a scouting trip to find a location for his new movie/pilot /series, Director David Lynch (also of "Eraserhead", "Straight Story", "Blue Velvet" fame ) found the setting of this cafe and further the whole Snoqualmie Valley, perfect! He then filmed the now famous TV series "Twin Peaks" immortalizing the current "Twede's Cafe" with their "cherry pie and Damn fine cup o' coffee!". The cafe is still a local legend and tourist hot spot in North Bend Washington.

In 2000, the cafe was victim of an arson fire that temporarily closed the famous landmark that still gets its share of tourism and TP fans annually. The barstools were saved and stored during the remodel.

The idea for the auction came about when Twede's Cafe owner, musician Kyle Twede and artist friend Peter Teekamp got together to discuss a one-man showing of Teekamp's art. Twede shared the history of the diner and mentioned that he was still holding the original barstools when the two decided to go for the online auction. The one-man show is still being planned and Teekamp can't think of a better place with more local history.

The Twin Peaks Festival is approaching its 15th Anniversary in July 2005 and a "Twin Peaks" search on Yahoo still reveals a huge international following. Twin Peaks was one of the earliest TV shows linked with an online newsgroup that helped further launch its popularity and spread the word as millions tuned in or logged on to discuss "Who killed Laura Palmer?". A special edition DVD was just released last year.

These 'seats-to-the-stars' have survived with all their original character. Each metal-base, floor mounted barstool is approx. 21" high with a 12" diameter full-swivel seat. They have been only lightly dusted off for this sale and are being offered as-is, ready for proper restoration and a place somewhere in T.V. LAND History:) They come with a "Certificate of Authenticity" from the owner of Twede's Cafe, the set where Peggy Lipton of the Mod Squad served up coffee in the off-beat melodrama. Each Barstool is being auctioned separately, meaning Bidders have to compete for the full set.

The famous cast list from the original Twin Peaks series directed by David Lynch included:
Kyle MacLachlan   - Agent Dale Cooper (Sex and the City)
Michael Ontkean   - Sheriff Harry S. Truman, (The Rookies)
Mädchen Amick - Shelly Johnson (Fantasy Island)
