Started by software engineer and sewing enthusiast Deepika Prakash three years ago, PatternReview.com provides sewers with a platform to come together and share their tips and techniques by writing and commenting on reviews for Sewing Patterns, Sewing Machines, as well as other sewing products. The site also features an active message board; a category based sewing knowledgebase as well as online sewing classes taught by subject matter experts for a variety of topics.
Over the last three years, PatternReview.coms members have posted 11,500 sewing related reviews of which 7,700 have been for sewing patterns. These reviews have detailed descriptions of what went into constructing a garment with a particular pattern, as well as the tips and techniques they had to employ to get the most out of it. Many sewers have also posted pictures of their finished garments with their reviews. These reviews make it convenient for sewers to decide whether to use a pattern and to seek help as they use the patterns for their projects!
