Hickmans song was spotlighted on American Idol as music behind contestants preparing for the show. The songs chorus, of a child asking for attention, fit perfectly behind the contestants asking for the judges ultimate approval.

Hickman has released both adult and childrens albums and is known for her ability as a performer and a songwriter. Her childrens albums include Newborn", Toddler" and Big Kid". Her most recent release is a DVD compilation of her songs, videos, live performances, in addition to her appearance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
In March, Hickman will be joined onstage with well-known artist Kelly Willis and the Austin Symphony Orchestra for a one night only performance of Musical Moms" at Bass Concert Hall. She will also be performing with Strings Attached for KidsCope, an organization that helps children and families understand the effects of cancer or chemotherapy on a loved one, to provide suggestions for coping, and to develop innovative programs and materials that communicate a message of hope to diverse families coping with this crisis.
American Idol is a Fox program that encourages contestants to try-out and sing before a series of judges within the music industry for the prize of a recording contract with a major studio.
