USA ePay adds Blackberry RIM to Wireless ePay support list and Signs Prime Time Shuttle for processing.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2005 -- USA ePay was pleased to announce today the addition of the Blackberry [RIM mobile phone to its supported list of devices for Wireless ePay. Wireless ePay is USA ePays solution for processing credit card transactions wirelessly through a merchants existing J2ME and MIDP 2.x enabled phone on any wireless network. With the new version 4 of the Blackberry operating system USA ePay is now able to support the Blackberry 7290 [Cingular, AT&T, Blackberry 7520 [Nextel as well as other models which are currently being released by Blackberry. The Wireless ePay software versions that support Blackberry have been fully tested and are in deployment.

Along with the news of Blackberry support comes the agreement between USA ePay and the Prime Time Shuttle company to use Wireless ePay in their vans. The program is now active in 150 vans across the Los Angeles area and will be deployed to some 3200+ vans nationwide in the months to come. Locations include Chicago, Washington DC, New York, Atlanta and Miami just to name a few. We feel this is a large step in the advancement of wireless credit card processing", said Ben Goretsky, CEO of USA ePay. USA ePay is proud to help Prime Time shuttle lead the way to better, simpler, safer and more efficient wireless credit card processing using the phones and RIMs which the Prime Time shuttle vans already have in place."

Prime Time shuttle was in the past processes transactions by calling them in over their cellular phones during time of commute. With the new Wireless ePay program drivers can simply swipe the card through an attachment on their phones and process the transaction without using any minutes. The companys 150 vans in the LA area process a monthly volume of 150,000+ transactions and over $3.1 million on average. When the service goes nationwide the company estimates processing over 2.4 million transactions and $65 million monthly.

The biggest advantages to Wireless ePay is the ability for a merchant to use their already existing phone and cell service for their credit card processing and since the transactions are all person-to-person the merchant keeps their retail/swiped rates on all their transactions; potentially saving the merchant hundreds or thousands.
