Neon Man Prophecy Lives on in Virginian’s Story

Richmond, VA playwright, Slash Coleman, provides a care package to his best friend's son in the form of a play. His best friend was electrocuted while hanging a neon sign last year and his girlfriend found out she was pregnant with his son a month later.

(PRWEB) October 7, 2005 -- Richmond, VA playwright Slash Coleman will present the world premier of his comedy at Mill Mountain Theater in Roanoke, VA on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 8:00 pm. The one-man-show is a tribute to the life of his late best friend Mark Jamison, who was electrocuted last year as he was hanging a neon sign. Proceeds of the 60-minute show will be donated to his best friend’s son.

"I’d like to think my show is a care package to my friend’s family," Coleman says, "but it has helped me in my search for peace after his death too.”

The Neon Man and Me was inspired by Jamison, a gifted artist in the medium of neon, and by a mysterious church prophecy that he left with Coleman before his death.

Richmond Magazine recently awarded an Editor's Pick to the production. It has also received coverage from National Public Radio, The Richmond Times Dispatch, and Radford University Magazine.

A Richmond native, Coleman is a novelist, short story writer and author of the book “Is My Chakra Pretty?” He went on a national tour last year with his one-man-show, “Love in Boxes.” He currently lives in Richmond, VA where he is working in his family’s business.
