New Literary Dog in Town

The Scruffy Dog Review literary e-zine launches and is now open for submissions.

(PRWEB) October 10, 2005 -- Looking for an eclectic mix of fiction, poetry, arts and culture, book reviews, writing advice, humour as well as interviews from some of the best contemporary authors today? The Scruffy Dog Review is just what’s needed.

Offering some of the best writing found on the web or in print, The Scruffy Dog Review begins accepting submissions in October for its premiere issue publishing in January 2006. Issues will then appear every other month. Guidelines are available on: http://www.thescruffydogreview.com/wst_page3.html.

The venture is the brainchild of poet and novelist B.K. Birch, who serves as Publisher and Editor-in-Chief. “Our goal here is not to fit in, but to be better – to offer a publication that will appeal to a wide audience. I originally suggested writing a group blog with an ensemble of gifted and talented writers and The Scruffy Dog Review evolved from those discussions.” The blog is found at: http://thescruffydogreview.blogspot.com/

“The editors are committed to being the best and it is that commitment that will keep our readers returning click after click. Lucky for me they know the competition, as they have been published by them in years past,” Birch continues.

The staff includes: Romance writer Terri Dunham; Scottish writer, poet and photographer Colin Galbraith; Devon Ellington, who publishes under a half a dozen names in both fiction and non-fiction across a wide variety of genres; historical author and artist Michelle Miles; southern novelist Angela Miller; fantasy writer E.L. Reedy; YA/Middle Grade novelist Lara Stauffer; and Australian Mark Vender, who specializes in literary fiction.

“All the editors have very different writing backgrounds and interests,” Birch continues. “I believe it is this diversity along with exceptional magazine content will make The Scruffy Dog Review rise above the average e-zine.”
