Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Split Up: What are the Odds?

Rumors of a Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey split up are all over the press, yet once again the online bookies fail to take full advantage.

Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 7, 2005 -- The online bookies have been on top of several hot celebrity "issues," but surprisingly they continue to drop the ball on a number of high profile press events. This time it is the rumored split up of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.

In fairness, some of the least expected of the online bookies have taken the bull by the horn -- so to speak -- catapulting into the public eye by offering betting odds on hot celebrity and political topics. www.betCRIS.com as an example took Gambling911.com up on its dare to post "President Bush Falling Off The Wagon" odds after the National Enquirer featured a story where the First Lady is quoted as giving GW an ultimatum: "It's Jim Beam or Me!"

Likewise, www.Betmaker.com found itself mentioned all over the mainstream press with its odds on Kate Moss being arrested. www.nine.com followed up by offering Ms. Moss an exclusive endorsement deal. She turned it down as if she was actually above such an offering. Moss could probably use the cash after reportedly losing a handful of major modeling gigs.

"The number of signups more than doubled on the days when Betmaker was mentioned on news outlets in regard to Kate Moss," Marketing Director for Betmaker.com, Tim Carter, told Gambling911 while in Miami last week.

"Gambling911.com fully anticipates one of its sponsors to come forward and offer Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey separation odds," commented Thomas Jensen, Marketing and Media Coordinator for Gambling911. "We've been very impressed with BetCRIS, Nine.com and Betmaker's dedication to these types of celebrity bets over the past three weeks."

Reality TV/pop star couple Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are desperately fighting fresh reports that their marriage is over, after the actress turned up solo and without her wedding ring to two recent events, reports sfgate.com.

The couple’s marriage has been at the center of speculation for months, but the pop stars have stood firm with rebuttals.

Gambling911.com's own A.J. Benza (the one time host of "E!'s Mysteries and Scandals") reported weeks ago on Nick and Jessica's solo public appearances.

"Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson continue to lie to the American public, even while they got together to sing "America the Beautiful" before Sunday's Washington Redskins-Chicago Bears game," Benza wrote in his weekly The Great Indoors column for Gambling911.com. "America might be beautiful, but there is nothing beautiful about the state of the alleged singers’ marriage. Nick showed up at the Stuff Style Awards in Hollywood the other night with a gang of hot girls, one of which admitted to a friend of mine that the newlyweds had literally not seen each other since the MTV Video Awards on Aug. 28."

Gambling911.com believes that the first online bookmaker to post odds on Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey splitting up will list "Yes" as the favorite.

"We also anticipate a number of connected props odds," Costigan stated. "Anything from What will ultimately be listed as the Cause for Separation and/or divorce, to Who Gets the House. It would not surprise any of us to see odds on a pregnancy thrown in for good measure with a sub wager of whether or not it is his."
