"Why Columbus Day? Why not!" Rose exclaimed.
"Don’t you want to become a legend within your social circle?" Brooks asked.
As outlined in their book, a traditional Columbus Day party combines a wide variety of decorations, food that can be delivered, and a specific dress code. Columbus Day party enthusiasts are also encouraged to partake of traditional Columbus Day games which may include Trivial Pursuit, Cranium, Pictionary, Twister, and Charades. However, under no circumstances should Jenga be played.
“Jenga is not a traditional Columbus Day game,” Rose stressed.
Hostesses opting to take their party from great to first-rate are urged to provide the game winners with fabulous prizes. Examples of fabulous prizes include items offered as parting gifts on game shows in the 1970s, such as car wax and boxes of rice.
“Our Columbus Day party is intended to demonstrate the importance of celebrating for the sake of celebrating. We hope it will encourage people everywhere to stop talking about how they should get together with their friends and plan that a get-together,” concluded Brooks.
