By satisfactorily completing the Kester University course and meeting Pb-free assembly requirements, Nexlogic Technologies’ processes and personnel are certified to perform Pb-free assembly.

The three-day onsite Kester University course covered classroom training of all Nexlogic Technologies’ personnel and a comprehensive audit of the company’s design, fabrication, assembly, test, and procurement systems and procedures. Personnel trained included design engineering teams, CAD/CAM engineers, customer service, sales, technicians, procurement, process, rework, and inspection.
As a result of the technical audit, Nexlogic invested in new equipments such as a wave solder system with six pre-heaters front and back for Pb-free assemblies, an automatic inspection system, and an x-ray machine to assure defect free, Pb-free assembly of BGA and CSP-populated boards. Investment for the new equipment totaled $350,000.
Mr. Khan said, “The x-ray machine is very powerful at 120 KVA rating with 500X magnification power. This capability allows us to eliminate open shorts and other defects when we perform Pb-free assembly of flip-chip, BGA, and CSP populated boards.”
