Clarkston, MI (PRWEB) October 10, 2005 -- The Artful Framer, a framing shop and gallery in Clarkston, announces a special exhibition of the work of local photographer Steve Bettwy from Nov. 18 to Dec. 31, 2005. Meet Bettwy at the opening reception on Friday, Nov. 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Artful Framer, 6505 Sashabaw Rd. Admission is free and open to the public.

Bettwy has won widespread acclaim for his color and black-and-white landscape photography. In August his work was chosen to be featured in the Port Huron Museum and was awarded "Best Photography" at the Port Huron “Art on the Avenue” art fair. This new exhibit features photos from Australia, Sweden, and the United States, including many images taken in the Clarkston area. “I’m inspired by settings that combine movement with stability, like a lighthouse at sunset, a mill surrounded by fall colors, or a stream weaving through the rocks," says Bettwy. "I seize the moments that speak to me."

Jacqueline Sullivan, the new owner of the 15-year-old Artful Framer, has 25 years of experience as an artist and art teacher. Says Sullivan, "I want to make The Artful Framer an outlet for artists of all mediums. This is the first of what we plan to be regular exhibitions here, and starting with Steve’s photography was an easy choice." She plans seven to eight exhibitions in 2006, drawing on her extensive network of artists.

Bettwy's photographs are available on-line through his company Luminous Visions (www.LuminousVisions.com), through private portfolio presentations, at fine art fairs, and at select public offerings.
