Goldleaf Leads Industry in Remote Deposit Capture

More financial institutions are using Goldleaf than any other vendor.

Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) October 11, 2005 -- Goldleaf Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Web-based ACH, check conversion, and check truncation solutions, announced today it leads the industry in equipping financial institutions for remote deposit, also known as ‘merchant capture.’ Goldleaf’s remote deposit solutions enable businesses to scan and submit check deposits electronically from their desktops.

“Goldleaf has implemented more banks on remote deposit than any other vendor,” says Dan Fisher, President and CEO of The Copper River Group, a research and consulting firm based in Fargo, ND. “Our research indicates Goldleaf leads the pack in this fast-growing segment of the payments industry. With almost 40% more financial institutions installed on remote deposit than its closest competitor, and bolstered by its recently announced alliance with ICBA Bancard, Goldleaf is positioned well to capitalize upon and increase its lead.”

“The response to our Remote Deposit Express solution has been tremendous,” says Goldleaf Technologies CEO, Paul McCulloch. “We knew we were being well received, but this research confirms the growth we’ve been experiencing firsthand,” he continues. “Low-cost duplex scanners and emerging economies of scale are making the cost-efficiency of remote deposit very attractive. Now, any financial institution can service any deposit relationship with any business anywhere. It’s an exciting time.”

Remote Deposit Express is a Web-based, bank-branded, front-end solution that requires no software installation. Merchants scan, truncate, and submit checks electronically through a secure, 128-bit RS4 encrypted Internet connection. Financial institutions may process the standardized X9.37 check image files electronically or on paper as substitute checks, making implementation of Remote Deposit Express independent of an institution’s Check-21 readiness on the backend.

Remote Deposit Express is a simple, optional module on the existing Web-based Goldleaf Client system many financial institutions already use to provide ACH origination services. As such, financial institutions may now offer remote deposit (i.e., check truncation) services and/or ACH origination/check-conversion services to participating businesses via a single, Web-based, front-end using a single simplex or duplex check scanner.
