Fox Home Entertainment to distribute the Burt Reynolds comedy. DVD includes featurette and extras produced by Frozen Pictures.
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) October 19, 2005 -- "Cloud 9," the first motion picture from Brett Hudson and Burt Kearns' production company, Frozen Pictures, will be released on DVD on January 3rd.
The film comedy, starring Burt Reynolds, Angie Everhart, D.L. Hughley and Paul Rodriguez, is being distributed in the U.S. and Canada by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. The DVD release includes a behind-the-scenes featurette and other extras produced exclusively by Frozen Pictures.
Cloud 9 is a Graymark presentation of a Ruddy-Morgan/Frozen Pictures production. It was written and produced by Brett Hudson and Burt Kearns of Frozen Pictures, along with Academy Award winner Albert S. Ruddy ("Million Dollar Baby").
The film was announced as a "labor of love" for Ruddy, who produced the Burt Reynolds film, "The Longest Yard," in 1974. It was a special labor for Hudson and Kearns, who conceived and developed the script specifically for shooting locations on the beaches near their homes in Malibu and Pacific Palisades.
Cloud 9 is a raucous comedy starring Reynolds as a Malibu conman who cashes in with an all-stripper beach volleyball team. It is also a sly social satire that takes aim at the Malibu caste system, with D.L. Hughley portraying a chauffeur, and Paul Rodriguez as a Chicano who masquerades as an Asian for business reasons.
The film also stars Gabrielle Reece and former Miss USA Kenya Moore, with cameo appearances by Gary Busey, Tom Arnold and Tony Danza. It was directed by Harry Basil ("The Fourth Tenor").
Lakeshore Entertainment is distributing "Cloud 9" internationally. Pinnacle Entertainment is handling television and cable broadcast rights.
Frozen Pictures, meanwhile, has entered into an agreement with the Malibu Motion Pictures investment group, to finance an ambitious slate of low-budget, high-concept movies, including the horror film, "Psych House" and heist comedy, "Two Buck Chuck."
Frozen Pictures made its reputation with its innovative television documentaries, including the Court TV series, Adults Only: The Secret History of The Other Hollywood, and All The Presidents' Movies with Martin Sheen (described by The Hollywood Reporter as "powerful, wonderful, tremendous television").
All The Presidents' Movies is set for a deluxe DVD release in early 2006.
