Acting, Improvisation, and Sketch Comedy Workshop begins Friday, November 4th for Children, Teens, and Adults in Laguna Hills.
(PRWEB) October 21, 2005 -- Rudy Mella is the head writer and performer in the sketch comedy troup HOT TAMALES LIVE! which is produced by Eva Longoria (Gabrielle from Desperate Housewives) and can be seen monthly at THE COMEDY STORE in Hollywood. The show is currently in production for Lifetime Television Network with an airdate set for 2006.
Rudy is here at The Performer's Academy, starting Friday, November 4th at 5:00 (Children ages 7-9, 6:00 ages 10-12 and & 7:00-9:00 ages 13 through Adults.
This workshops will help the actor explore creative ways of developing characters through improvisation format, acting exercises and orginal sketch comedy scenes. These specific formats are often seen on shows such as Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Prime Time sitcoms.
At the end of the course, students will perform a showcase of original Sketch Comedy that they themselves helped to create and develop.
Rudy was born and raised in NYC and brings with him more than 15 years of professional experience in the theatre world. He has studied with theatre legends Herbert Berghof, Uta Hagen, and Gene Frankel. His television credits include ONE LIFE TO LIVE -- playing the character of Luis. He was also the character of Little Q on the Saturday morning citcom City Guys. He has an extensive resume of off-Broadway productions including his acclaimed One Man Show STRANGE TONGUES.
Rudy also teaches breakdancing at The Performers Academy -- Thursday night at 6:00 and Saturday at 12:00. He is an original member of the Breakdance movement in Spanish Harlem in the early 1980's. His classes feature a fusion of Old School Break and Pop and Hip Hop.
