Mobile entertainment developer will give viewers a chance to participate in the 33rd Annual American Music Awards®.
Washington/Los Angeles (PRWEB) October 21, 2005 -- Proteus, Inc., a leading creator and developer of mobile entertainment, has announced that it is once again teaming with ABC Enhanced TV (ETV) and T-Mobile USA for the return of the T-Mobile Text-In Award presented as part of the 33rd Annual American Music Awards®. The Award will be chosen by viewers from a list of top artists from each of the major music genres (country, rock, pop, and rap/hip-hop).
Voting has already begun and will conclude during the airing of the show, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, on Tuesday, November 22 at 8:00 PM ET on the ABC Television Network. T-Mobile Text Messaging customers -- as well as viewers voting on ABC's web site (www.abc.com, Keyword: AMA) -- can choose from nominees Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, 50 Cent, Green Day, Toby Keith, and Gwen Stefani. The winner will be revealed during the live telecast of the special.
T-Mobile subscribers will be able to vote by sending the letter corresponding to their favorite artist ("A" for Mariah Carey, "B" for Kelly Clarkson, "C" for 50 Cent, "D" for Green Day, "E" for Toby Keith, or “F” for Gwen Stefani) to the short code 262 ("AMA"). Standard text messaging charges apply for text messaging a vote. Each entry will be counted towards the T-Mobile Text-In Award and will be cumulated in conjunction with the Web-based voting up until the presentation of the award.
"Working with ABC Enhanced TV provides us an excellent opportunity to further demonstrate how audiences can be actively engaged in television broadcasts,” said Craig Shapiro, vice-president of business development for Proteus. "And what better forum than one of the highest rated awards specials on television to put the excitement of the voting experience at the fingertips of the ABC audience."
