Women allegedly assaulted by former president to visit Clinton Library tomorrow to promote awareness of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s treatment of women, raise charitable donations. Clinton’s spokesman scoffs at tour.
It’s disgraceful that Clinton’s spokesman would mock Juanita and Kathleen and then boast about the Library’s attendance

Little Rock, AR (PRWEB) October 25, 2005 -- Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey will visit the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum tomorrow to draw attention to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s treatment of women, and to call for donations to groups that fight domestic violence. They will be accompanied on the tour by attorney and author Candice E. Jackson. The tour has been publicly derided by the former president’s spokesman.

Broaddrick and Willey will arrive at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Wednesday, October 26. They will tour the Library to see how it portrays the treatment of women, and they will discuss their impressions with the media at noon in front of the building.

Earlier this month, Clinton spokesman Jay Carson mocked the tour in published reports. Speaking to Lloyd Grove of the New York Daily News, Carson said: “The Clinton Library has shattered all attendance records this year, and we’re always happy to hear about new visitors.”

Carson’s glib statements stand in stark contrast to the serious allegations leveled by Broaddrick and Willey. Broaddrick alleges that Clinton raped her during a conference in Little Rock in 1978, and Willey says that he sexually assaulted her in the White House in 1993. Both also charge that Clinton’s inner circle—including wife Hillary Rodham Clinton—subsequently attempted to pressure and intimidate them into silence.

“It’s disgraceful that Clinton’s spokesman would mock Juanita and Kathleen and then boast about the Library’s attendance,” said Jackson, who is a survivor of rape and earlier this year authored a book alleging abuses of power by the Clintons against over a half dozen women. “It’s not surprising, though—Team Clinton has always tried to discredit, intimidate, and silence the women who’ve tried to shine a light on Bill Clinton’s history of misogyny.”

Jackson added that Carson’s statement was ironic given that US News & World Report reported earlier this year that the Clinton Library had overstated its attendance figures.

Broaddrick, Willey, and Jackson have also issued a public invitation to other women who claim to have been assaulted by Clinton to join them. None of the women are receiving sponsorships or financial consideration for the activity, and a portion of the proceeds from all sales of Jackson’s book “Their Lives: The Women Targeted by the Clinton Machine” are going to a charity that works to prevent domestic abuse.
