Penn Media Signs Charter Advertisers For Video Portal Evtv1

Penn Media announced it has signed four sponsors within the first week of offering advertising on its video portal, EVTV1. These charter sponsors -- eDiets, 800 Pet Meds, Ask Jeeves, and InstaTrim -- cover all 16 channels of content available on the video portal.

Mokena, IL (PRWEB) October 25, 2005 -- Penn Media announced it has signed four sponsors within the first week of offering advertising on its video portal, EVTV1. These charter sponsors - eDiets, 800 Pet Meds, Ask Jeeves, and InstaTrim - cover all 16 channels of content available on the video portal.

VP of advertising, Jeanie Davis stated, “We first looked to an outside ad rep firm to represent our pre-roll advertising inventory but in the end were convinced we could do a better job bringing the ad sales in-house for this rich media. Signing four sponsors in the first week validates that strategic decision.”

Penn Media’s move into selling pre-roll video commercials is new. It has extensive experience selling advertising inside its e-zine network which has been in operation since 1998 and now has 62 million subscribers. Selling streamed video commercials media for EVTV1, a wholly owned subsidiary, is Penn’s most recent initiative for responding to the needs of online marketers. Davis continued,

“What makes EVTV1 a unique video portal is that it contains content that reaches different target markets. If you need to be in front of males 18-24, we have the content that draws them. If advertisers need a more mature audience, we have Liberace and Mario Lanza content for pre-roll commercials. We now have the ability to contextualize video advertising by placing pre-roll commercials not only in front of video clips in a specific channel, but advertisers can even sponsor certain video clips. With our extensive reach with the e-zines we can also drive traffic to any particular clip for an advertiser. This makes us rather unique. We are excited about this latest advertising solution offered through EVTV1.”

EVTV1 recently announced licensing content from twenty home video labels and currently has access to over 200,000 hours of content.
