‘Tis the Season for Online Holiday Shopping

iFLOOR.com shares helpful hints to make holiday shopping easier and safer.

(PRWEB) October 28, 2005 -- Arguably one of the busiest times of the year, the Fall holiday season is also the peak period for online shopping. Beginning the end of November’s Thanksgiving to the middle of December’s Christmas and Hanukkah, shoppers snap up everything from smoked ham to smoked maple wood floors.

Online shopping offers many advantages to the time-conscious individual; it helps one avoid the hassles of battling traffic, snow, lack of parking, long lines and last-minute shopping crowds. Here are helpful hints for happier holidays:

1.Shop early. “Shopping early in the fall season is better, because the demand is so high that inventory and other flooring resources are pulled very thin during November and early December,” says Steve Simonson, CEO of iFLOOR.com, the world’s largest online flooring retailer.
2. Protect your privacy. Deal only with the best websites, it helps to know if they are associated with large organizations. Read the company’s privacy policy.
3. Ask questions. The best way to find out more about the product is to read product descriptions thoroughly and to ask questions. It’s always a good sign if you can get straight answers from the company you call. 24/7 customer service shows dedication to your needs. Plus, if you are making a big purchase online, try to get samples if they are offered.
4. Print the order information. Keep proof of your transaction handy; print out any email, information and tracking numbers given to you.
5. Be creative, give gifts that last. Don’t stick with age-old gifts such as ties for dad and sweaters for mom, try something new. Area rugs are a huge gift item during the holidays. They’re perfect for warming up the home during winter.

Home improvement projects are also good gifts to give this season. The life of a home improvement project lasts far beyond the holidays, giving them a better value over other presents. “Bamboo and cork are popular gifts for the Earth-friendly consumer while exotic hardwoods are perfect for the lavish lifestyle,” says Simonson.
