Horseback Riding Adventure in Uruguay’s Picturesque Cattle Country is Tested and Developed by Equitours Staff and Clients

Equitours is proud of the successful and inexpensive new horseback riding vacation it has recently developed in Uruguay’s cattle country. An exploratory trip by long-time Equitours clients received top reviews.

(PRWEB) October 25, 2005 -- Equitours is pleased to announce Gauchos and Estancias, its new horseback riding tour, which the company created and tested in Uruguay.

Equitours ride consultants and clients recently made an exploratory trip that received high praise from everyone. The participating clients were veterans of other Equitours horseback riding trips -- some had done over 20 on six continents -- so they had a good basis for comparison. A few adjustments in the itinerary after the introductory ride have made it even better. Beginning January 2006, interested riders can experience Gauchos and Estancias for a price of $1,490 for the seven-day trip.

The tour goes from ranch (estancia) to ranch in the heart of cattle country where the gaucho culture is very much alive and riding is a way of life. Although quite different from one another, these beautiful estancias each have a fascinating history. Riders can look forward to being welcomed with warm hospitality and a variety of fresh and delicious food at each destination.

The horses were strong and well cared for, the saddles were comfortable and the logistics professionally handled
Each of the riders said they were pleased with the green, unspoiled, wide open country because the terrain was ideal for horseback riding.

“The horses were strong and well cared for, the saddles were comfortable and the logistics professionally handled," said Bob Leuba of Connecticut.

Uruguay has a stable, democratic government with a low crime rate and no terrorists. The people are friendly to Americans, especially when sharing an interest in horses, so it is an excellent destination for riders and those fascinated by the American West as there are many similarities between the two horse cultures. The skill these Uruguayan cowboys display in sports like cutting and pole bending is most impressive, and it is a marvelous opportunity to experience the culture in depth.

Equitours, America’s oldest and largest riding tour company has been organizing horseback riding vacations worldwide for more than 25 years. The owners of Equitours also own a working ranch in northwest Wyoming where they raise Arabian horses and Angus cattle. They have welcomed riders at their horseback riding ranch since 1971.
